Mary Kay Culpepper
Mary Kay Culpepper is a graduate of the International Center for Studies in Creativity at SUNY-Buffalo State and received her doctorate from the Communications and Media Research Institute at the University of Westminster in London.
Her career as an award-winning journalist covering fashion, craft, and cuisine sharpened her drive to know more about the everyday contexts in which people create. Her teaching and research interests include creative research methods; the social, psychological, and cultural systems of making; and the development of creative identity.
In addition to co-editing Big Questions in Creativity series for ICSC Press (2014, 2015, 2017), Dr. Culpepper most recently contributed a chapter on creativity and affordance theory to the Palgrave Handbook of Creativity at Work (Martin & Wilson, 2018).
